About the program

The department has an undergraduate program as well as a graduate program. The graduate program is the first institute set up to integrate the fields of finance and information in Taiwan. Our program provides students with rigorous theoretical backgrounds and solid empirical trainings in the field of finance industry including banking, insurance, and investment management. The goal of our program is to deliver the high quality management education to the business students in a dynamic environment.

Master Program

The graduate program in Finance and Information at NKUST, the first advanced institute integrates the fields of finance and information in Taiwan, began in 2003. The graduate program provides an innovative curriculum of advanced study and research that builds a strong foundation in the principles and practices of finance and information. Courses in finance and information are divided into two broad categories. One category focuses on finance, and the other category focuses on information system. To complete the degree, students are required to take at least 45 semester credits, among them 25 credits must be in core courses, and submit an approved master’s thesis.

Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate program in NKUST is unique among its peers for its offering students the opportunity to take courses in a wide range of finance and information, including banking and financial institutions, corporate finance, financial engineering, investment and portfolio management, risk management and insurance, information system, and artificial intelligence etc. To complete the degree, 128 semester credits and a thesis are required. As the study of finance is designed to provide the student with both the theoretical background and the analytical tools required to make effective judgments in finance, many students select careers in insurance, commercial and investment banking, or financial managers for corporations.
